As a behavioral health advocate, a believer in the process, and a mental health consumer, I know the power of braving vulnerability. Going through my own mental health journey, walking through both the heights and the depths, has brought healing, health, and more happiness than I thought possible. While there’s still plenty of hard days too though, and no day is perfect, I now strive for progress not perfection. I have a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and through the process of becoming a therapist I learned how great the need is for mental health resources and support for mental health professionals. Now I advocate for the healing therapy can bring, the courageous people who brave the journey, and all therapists, who walk alongside us. Having worked in administration and management within the mental health field for five years, I bring experience in establishing outreach and awareness initiatives, public speaking, facilitating trainings, program implementation, grant writing and management, and clinical experience in mental health settings. . I am passionate about empowering others, winning the argument that all dogs should be called puppies, reducing stigma surrounding mental health issues, and fostering creativity and authenticity in others and in myself. I live in Nashville with a wonderful community and support system, who have taught me that opening up to others can sometimes be the best gift we give to ourselves.
