James Revels, LPC
James Revels is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of North Carolina. For the past nine years he has provided onsite counseling in military bases around the world including Japan, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands and in various bases within the U.S.
James is a former collegiate football player from the University of Florida. He played free safety and earned All-SEC honors twice 1972 and 1973, All-SEC Academic team in 1973 and Honorable Mention All-American 1973. He graduated with departmental honors in philosophy in June 1974 and was drafted that same year by the Miami Dolphins.
In 1975 James chose to begin graduate work in counseling psychology, attending San Francisco State and Sonoma State University, completing his M.A. degree in 1976. Over the years he has developed his skills in the area of crisis and trauma, stress management, emotional regulation, trigger identification, communication and relationship issues. For decades he has developed a deep understanding of mindfulness and attentional skills and utilizes this in his counseling and teaching. He has experience counseling with many populations including corrections, traumatic brain injury, addictions, and depression along with the high level stress of military life.
