[Video] How To Deal With Grief

Clinical Assessments - The Becoming Counseling

Transcript from the video:

Hi, my name is Chelsea Nixon, I’m a therapist at The Becoming Counseling and today we’re gonna talk about grief counseling and why it’s okay to feel the way you feel. It’s really important when you’re experiencing grief and loss to just experience your feelings and really dive into what you’re feeling. The pain of it as uncomfortable as it may be. Some ways you can really do that is to talk to somebody, you can also create a ritual around the feeling, the person, or the experience that you’ve lost.

Some ways you can do that is to create something that gives you a memory of that person that brings to light the way that you’re feeling or the thing that you’ve lost. You can also experience and process grief through moving your body, get outside experience nature, go on a hike, walk somewhere that reminds you of what you’ve lost. And that allows you to really process all of the feelings that are coming up for you with that loss.

If you’re experiencing grief, The Becoming Counseling is here for you. Give us a call at 615-544-6600 to be matched with a counselor that will work with you.
